Tailgating Tips To Keep Everyone Safe
Alright, football fans, your favorite season is in full blast. It’s time to sink back into your college memories, and head back to your favorite campus to watch the game live. Before it’s game time, you will want to mingle with friends and family at a good old tailgate. To keep fans safe and sound until kick off, refresh your memory with these tailgating safety tips.
Look Out for Your Ride
Sometimes, on gameday, the most difficult contender is getting there. The traffic is horrible and fans are traveling by foot and not paying attention. First, plan to get there early, and at the end of the game, wait it out until the traffic dies down. Park in a non-populated area to avoid waiting in a long line to exit the parking lot. If you do have to drive, stay alert and watch for pedestrians.
When Grilling
The music is loud, the re-play is showing on the television, and the crowds are large. Of course, you have to fill stomachs and satisfy your guests with delicious, football snacks off the grill, but don’t forget to practice precautions. At all times, the grill should remain at least six feet away from cars, as well as away from people and pets. Also, make sure your grill is stable on a flat surface and a fire extinguisher is near by if needed. After each use, the grill should be cleaned.
Serving the Food
Now that you have prepared the food safely, be sure to serve it properly. Don’t let anything sit out longer than two hours, and ensure the serving space is properly sanitized beforehand. Have plenty of ice on hand to keep waters and sodas cold. After all, your guests will need something to wash down your yummy burgers and dogs right off the grill.

Don’t Forget the Sunblock
It’s October, so you can’t get a sunburn right? No, unfortunately, that is not the case. Even if there are clouds in the sky, the sun will still find you, so apply sunscreen. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
