Check Out The Strasburg Harvest Festival
Harvest time is here, and the community of Strasburg will come together to celebrate the season with the 2nd Annual Harvest Festival! This month, various farmers, purveyors, and artisans will convene in Strasburg to share the fruits of their labor, and there will be plenty of food, fun, and games for the whole family.

When and Where

The festival will take place on Saturday, August 17. The event will run from 9 in the morning to 2 that afternoon. The market and festival space is located at 295 Park Road, Strasburg, Virginia 22657.

The Harvest Festival

The hard work of our local farmers will pay off this August, and you can find the bounty of our region’s land on full display at the festival’s Farmer’s Market. Experts will also demonstrate seed saving so that you can continue reaping heirloom produce for years to come. You can also attend workshops on cool season crops and companion planting to prepare for the impending autumn. Each demonstration will take 20 to 30 minutes.

Fun and Games

There will be a cakewalk to benefit the Strasburg Community Garden, with the cakes coming courtesy of various community members. If the day grows hot, you can beat the heat by taking a splash down the water slide, so don’t forget to bring a swimsuit and a towel. Kids will have a grand time in the Kid’s Zone, complete with cornhole, garden bingo, and other amusements. A moon bounce will be nearby for acrobatic enjoyment, as well.

In the Discovery Zone, you’ll meet various non-profits and other community-focused organizations, and you’ll be able to learn about various ways to support worthy causes. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods for the Kiwanis Club of Strasburg food drive. If you bring a bag of goods, you may enter a raffle to win special prizes provided by local artists.

Bring Your Appetite

Stick around for lunch, because Shaffer’s BBQ & Market will be on site with their food truck to serve up hearty classics. It’s hard to pass up their delicious sandwiches and other slow-cooked standards, all courtesy of their BBQ Palace on wheels. If you need to cool down after a hot meal, you can grab a frozen treat from J.P.’s Sno-Cones.
