How to Set Up the Uconnect App

Step 1: Download the Uconnect app through the App Store or Google Play Store. The app logo is a white U with a blue background. The app with the black background titled “Uconnect Access” is the older version of this app, so do not get that one.

Step 2: Get in your car and turn it on. On the touchscreen, press the Apps button at the bottom of the screen. Then press the Activate Services button which has the word “GO” on it.

Step 3: Click on “Enter Email” and enter your email. They will send you an email with a blue button that says, “Continue Activation”. Click on the button and set up your account.p>

Step 4: After you have set up your account, go back into the app and log in using your email and the password you just created.

*It may take 24-72 hours for your car and app to sync*

Once the app is loaded and working properly, you are able to control many aspects of the car right from your smartphone!

 

How to Use the Uconnect App

At the bottom of the screen, there are three buttons: Info, Remote, and Location.

 

From the remote screen (bottom-middle button), you can:

- Lock the car

- Unlock the car

- Start the car

- Cancel (turn the car off)

- Active the Horn and Lights

These actions can take up to 3 minutes, but usually dont.

 

From the location screen (bottom-right button), you can:

- Find your vehicle's location

- Click the top left button (steering wheel/compass button) to update your vehicle’s location to find the most accurate location possible

- The map screen shows your location (Orange), and the vehicle (Blue)

- If you click the button at the top right, not the messages button but the one below it, you can change the screen layout. You can choose between Map View, Satellite View, and Hybrid View. It also has the ability to show traffic patterns if you choose to turn that on

- Use Search ‘n Go to send an address or point of interest from your phone to the screen in your car

 

From the Info button (bottom-left button), it shows you:

- Vehicle health report

- Will let you know if you have any problems with the car that need to be addressed

- Fuel level

-Tire Pressure

-Odometer

-Oil life Remaining

 

At the top of the screen there are two buttons. If you click on the messages button on the right, it shows you your previous requests, and if you click on the settings button on the left, it gives you multiple options.

In vehicle preferences, you can:

- Update messaging preferences in order to send vehicle health reports to your phone or email

- Change your vehicle nickname

- Find a dealer near you

- Enable touch ID

 

In app settings, you can:

- Change units from US to Metric

 

In help, you can:

- Call Roadside Assistance

- Call SiriusXM Guardian Customer Care

- Call JEEP Care

- Read How-to’s about the app

- Give developer Feedback

 

In legal, it gives you the option to read the:

- Application Terms

- Privacy Policy

- Terms

 

The last feature on this screen is the Log Out button

Now that you have your app set up, you can warm up your car from inside the house on a cold morning, make sure you locked your car while you are boarding a plane, and much more.
