Step 1: Starting on the driver's side, unscrew the rear fastener knob overhead located on the speaker bar assembly. Place it somewhere safe like in the center console.
Step 2: Turn all three L-shaped locks overhead to the open position. Unclip the sun visor and move it to the side. Lift up on the header latch above the windshield frame to free the Freedom Panel from the roof. Push up and remove it from the Wrangler. Store it somewhere safe.
Step 3: On the passenger's side, unscrew the Rear Fastener Knob, turn the single L-shaped lock all the way to open. Unclip the sun visor and move it to the side. Lift up on the Header Latch above the windshield frame and freely remove the Freedom Panel.
Step 4: For 4-door Wranglers only: Using your T-40 Torx Head driver, remove the two screws holding the hard top of the driver and passenger side doors. Place the screws somewhere safe.
Step 5: Using your T-40 Torx Head driver, remove the six Torx Head screws that are holding down the hard top in the trunk space of the Wrangler. There are three on each side. Place these screws somewhere safe.
Step 6: Locate the wiring harness inside the rear left corner of the hard top. Disconnect the rear windshield washer hose by pulling it away from the top. Disconnect the wiring harness by sliding the red tab over to the right and pressing on the sides of the clip. Pull to fully disconnect the harness.
Step 7: Close the swing gate and have another pair of hands ready to help you lift and remove the hard top from the Wrangler. Lift up on each side of the hardtop and walk it towards the rear of the Wrangler. Store it somewhere soft and safe.
Step 8: With the help of a friend, walk the hard top back onto the Wrangler. Carefully make sure that falls back into place on all the ledges and the holes for the six Torx Head screws line up to be secured inside.
Step 9: Connect the wiring harness back to the top and slide the red tab over to the left to lock the clip. Reconnect the rear windshield washer hose back to the top.
Step 10: Using your T-40 Torx Head driver, secure all six Torx Head screws back into the top of the trunk space on the Wrangler.
Step 11: For 4-door Wranglers only: Using your T-40 Torx Head driver, place the Torx Head screws back into place above the driver and passenger side doors to completely secure your hard top.
Step 12: Place the passenger side Freedom Panel back onto the roof and then the driver side Freedom Panel back onto the roof and make sure they all fall into place properly.
Step 13: On the passenger side, secure the Rear Fastener Knob back onto the speaker bar assembly. Close the L-shaped lock overhead and push down on the header latch above the windshield frame to secure the Freedom Panel. Secure the sun visor.
Step 14: On the driver side, secure the Rear Fastener Knob back onto the speaker bar assembly. Close all three L-shaped locks, push down on the header latch to secure the Freedom Panel and clip the sun visor back into place.
